Dilli-Rishikesh-Chamba-Dhanaulti-Mossourie-Dehradoon-Dilli

Steering wheel in the hand for two days.... and now the keyboard of this laptop... trust me it reeeeealy does not feel good... I am already missing that cool air... something that could make you shiver in the hottest of sun as well... something that tells you what being pure is really about... umhum..... what awesome two days these were....

16-April; NOIDA; 0545 hrs....
8818 kms on the dash !!! Me, Aro and Martina leave NOIDA... we had not planned anything for the next two days..and were in a mood to take it the way it was coming.... though we were a good 2 hours late then the planned time to leave.. the early morning sun was still not there to greet us.... moving from noida towards haridwar at an easy 80 kmph i was realy enjoying the morning breeze... while listening to the Mahamrityunjaya Matra...Drove for about three and half hours before all three of us decided to stop and have tea... so there we were 8978 kms on my dash, 0930 hrs in my watch.. and about 60 kms before Haridwar we took a break..... Sat on the "charpais" in the Mansarovar Restaurant , surrounded by thick trees and a sweet smell of wet soil (the owner had just sprayed the entire area with water)... it was good feel... this is when i am usually in the office.. working on something or other.. and today i was walking around with a Nikon n65 thinking where should i take a few pictures from... what a striking difference between friday and saturday :)I think we were there for about 45 minutes... and then moved to Haridwar... instead of going to Har Ki Pauri, we decided to take a different road and try reach the banks of the actual river in the car itself.. and managed to do that too :) the flow of the river is actually diverted towards the bathing ghats and that is why the river itself did not have a lot of water flowing.. which made it really easy for us to just pull up our pants and walk inside the water for sometime :) :).... and then take a bath as well... ummm... the water was reeeeealy cold and once out of the ganges.. i was as fresh as ever.. not at all tired... ready to drive !!! took some fotos around the place.. and finally moved out of haridwar around 1130 hrs...

Driving from Haridwar to Rishikesh is a good exp. The road is good.. and is between the rajaji national park.. so you can ( if you are lucky) can see some deers at times.... monkeys lotsa them :)... sometimes inside the cars.. and sometimes outside .... reached rishikesh in about 45 min... the plan was to stay in rishikesh overnight.. and do some rafting in the morning on sunday !!! Aro checked out a couple of hotels.. but i decided to move ahead.. and see if can get some better options... and this is where things changed.. I saw this booking office for rafting and all and decided to check out if we could go for rafting righaway... and the good news was that we could... from Shivpuri to Rishikesh... checked two places.. one wanted us to pay 450 bucks per head.. and we would be picked up from that office around 1500 hrs and start rafting by 1600 hrs... we were fine with this arrangement.. when I decided to walk into one more office and see what he had to offer... and here was the offer : 400 bucks per head..Shiv Puri to Rishikesh... and we had to move rightaway :) Aro reeeally was not keen on this.. but me and Martina forced him to go.. and we paid the guy 1200 bucks and sat in the Amby which was to take us to Shivpuri... Martina was kinda suprised when we told her that for about 20 odd years Amby was the car which was driven on Indian roads...

anyway... we had to take a sumo from some distance ahead.. and then reached shivpuri... Aro was shit scared and me and martina were enjoying the looks on his face while was busy looking at the Ganga and the rapids that he would actually get in... hehehehehee.. it was a good drive....
finally we were at the banks of Ganga in Shivpuri... Three rafts... 24 ppl... 4 different groups... i was kinda uncomfortable with this.. coz on a raft its always good to have ppl who you know a li'il or more.... coz rafting is one "team" exercise that I have seen.... however the raft we took was a good heterogeneous mix of ppl... Me, Aro and Martina... Two more german girls... two guys from somewhere in India...makes it a total of 7 ppl and our instructor.... I took that front left space... martina behind me on the left.. and because Aro was really scared... he took the last place on the left just next to the instructor !!!! Aaaaaaand there we go... finally in the river.. did some small warmup exercises... Front Paddle.. back paddle...left front right back... left back right front... and STOP !!!!

Went through rapids like Return to Centre, Roller Coster, Club House, and finally "No more Rapids"... back in rishikesh at 1745 hrs... wat a water trip this was... awesome... changed our clothes and had food in Madhusudan Restaurant.. this was something on the lines of ISKON... they had a temple and a small restaurant and a guest house as well... good food.. and very very cheap... 219 was the bill for the three of us... and me and aro as usual were really hungry and ate as if this was the last time we were getting food :)
Time to decide what we want to do next... we asked a couple of ppl as to where could we go from there.. and out of the many options that we got we chose "Chamba" as our next spot... 60 kms and about 2.5 hours away.. considering that I had never driven on the hills, we decided to move to Chamba... started at 1915 hrs... distance on the dash at this hour was 1915 kms... It was dark, it was hilly and it was my first drive on the hills... so a lot of excitement... and exactly 2 hours and 60 kms later we were in Chamba.. the small hilly town was already asleep and we had to find the Garhwal Nigam Bunglow to sleep... on our way to that place.. we saw this small but ok sorts of a hotel.. and decided to stop there... we were not hungry... coz we had great food back in rishikesh about 2 hours back... so we decided to call it a day !!! Aro as soon as got inside the bed got up again... saying that he was feeling as if he was still in the raft :) and was moving like that.. hehehehehe... but we convinced him that he was very much on a bed which was on firm ground and could sleep as well.. so he went off to sleep, snoring away to glory while Me and Martina decided to take a walk around the place for a while before we get into our beds....had tea at 2230 hours.. and then finally got inside the rooms and slept.. We took a single room and got an extra bed for her inside that room.. and her bed was right next to the window from where could see the valley, and the small lights here and there !!! good view..

17 April:
Some disturbance in the room wakes me up at 0600 hrs.. and look out of the window to see the sun just about to come up from the hill in the east.. so even though i wanted to sleep more.. i got out of the bed so that I do not miss this view !!!It was chilly outside... there was no sun so far at the point where I was standing... and the air was very cold.. and i did not have any jacket or anything... enjoyed that feeling for about 15 minutes before the sun was there in front of us... we decided to have a quick breakfast and move from Chamba.. the route that we had to take was go to Dhanaulti and then to Massourie on our way to Dehradoon... We had to decide that we want to go back to Haridwar from D'doon or straight to Delhi once we reach there... so we moved outta Chamba at 0830 hrs ( 9118 kms).... Only a part of the road between Chamba and Dhanaulti is good, most of it actually is in a bad shape... we stopped at quite a few places to enjoy the surroundings...there were no sounds except the air... cannot decribe that feeling in words... no way possible...the hills were full of Buransh... a deep red flower, the juice of which is supposed to have a high medicinal value... at a lot of places on our way... the red petals of the flower were there.. which had fallen off the trees at higher mountains.... Drove past Dhanaulti, as we did not feel that it was any more beautiful then wat we had seen in the past few kilometres.... though i was driving very slow enjoying the cool breeze and the scenic looks of the place.....

Reached Massourie at 1200 hrs ( 9176 kms) and I did not like that place.. too crowded... not the kinda hill station i would like to be in... reminded me of Nainital which I really hated when I saw it for the first time.... we thought we would go to Kemty falls but it was a good 15 kms away.. and we would have to be back on the same road... I was in no mood to drive to that place after having a look at this town.... it for sure would be full of tourists and families... who would never take a chance and go to a town which most do not frequent !!! anyway... we parked the car there only.. and walked to the market... had some food there... and some mango shake... on our way back.. bought some grapes and bananas.. so that we could eat them on our way back !!! and finally managed to leave Massourie at 1325 hrs...

The road to D'doon is very well laid.... and it was real fun driving on this road !!! though I was careful about not picking up speed which I cannot control... though it was the first exp of hill driving.. i was enjoying it like anything... tooooooooo GOOOD !!!

Once we reached D'doon, we were not in a mood to go to Haridwar again.. so we took the way to Roorkee from there which goes through the Rajaji National Park and managed to get on that highway at 1430 hrs ( 9210 kms)... As soon the hills end there is a road for about 50 odd kms which is a straiiiiiiiiiight road... managed to touch 120 kmph on this road without any problems and was driving b/w 100-120 for about 15-20 minutes... too bad the traffic started building up soon.. and had to get back to a comfortable 80-90 zone !!! Reached Roorkee.. took a turn towards Meerut, stopped at Khatauli for a quick bite and was in Delhi by 2115 hrs (9475kms)... Thinking about another day in office.. and how bad i wanted to be back in Chamba :(
Anyway....here i am today.... writing about whatever happened in the last two days...rafting from Shivpuri to Rishikesha total of 40 litres of Petrol used and 650 kms covered. No refuel needed on the entire trip thanks to the huge 48 litre petrol tank of the car.about 120 kms of driving in the hills which was fhinomenol !!!the way my car worked on this trip is something that strengthens my trust in Fiat... it was absolutely effortless.. and I was not at all tired when I reached home in the night !!!

Here is something that I thought of right now:
40 litres of Petrol : 1500 rupees
17 kms of Rafting : 400 rupees
Food for three in Rishikesh : 219 rupees
The feeling of not being tired at all at the end of a two day 650 km drive : Priceless :)

Oh yes.. did i forget writing that we managed to take over 70 fotos in these two days? Thanks to my dear friend Rupak who was kind enough to give me his NIKON N65 :)

CaN't wAiT 2 LeAvE hOmE

I have not been able to sleep tonight.... too excited to think about getting to drive for a long distance... and mosquitos as well.. hehehe... so i get up at 0130 hrs after going off to sleep at 2300 hrs yesterday to fight some of these small but irritating creatures... someone temme what role do they play in the entire food cycle !!! i am missing neha right now... for a couple of reasons... One there are chances that if she was here in india.. she would have joined me on this trip.. which would have been jussssssssst wonderful... and two she can tell me about the mosquitoes...
ok coming back to the trip thingie.... Aro is still in the office and there is no cab that can drop him around NOIDA till like 0630 hrs... banking on our manager Amit to drop him to NOIDA !!!! now when would he leave office... lets see... I really wanted to start early so that we could beat the early morning traffic and reach Rishikesh as early as possible... around 1000 hrs is when I think we would be able to reach if we leave around 0500 hrs.... Lets see when do i leave and when i reach there... the idea is to drive up in the mountains for another 100 kms before we stop.. spend the night there and then come back to rishikesh on sunday morning to do some rafting and stuff...
but then u never know... once me and aro meet.. we might just change the plan of where we are going :) might go to chandigarh as well... or is Jim Corbett a good idea?... lets see...

bai bai for now... the next i think i would write on would be monday..... till then this is your host and buddy Prashant signing off !!!! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Doooooooo Try This At Home !!! :)

A ten year-old Jewish boy was failing math. His parents tried everything
from tutors to hypnosis; but to no avail. Finally, at the insistence of a
family friend, they decided to enrol their son in a private Catholic school.
After the first day, the boy's parents were surprised when he walked in
after school with a stern, focused and very determined expression on his
face. He went straight past them, right to his room and quietly closed the
door. For nearly two hours he toiled away in his room with math books strewn
about his desk and the surrounding floor. He emerged long enough to eat, and
after quickly cleaning his plate, went straight back to his room, closed the
door and worked feverishly at his studies until bedtime. This pattern of
behaviour continued until it was time for the first quarter's report card.
The boy walked in with it unopened, laid it on the dinner table, and went
straight to his room. Cautiously, his mother opened it and, to her
amazement, she saw a large red 'A' under the subject of Math. Overjoyed, she
and her husband rushed into their son's room, thrilled at his remarkable
progress.
"Was it the nuns that did it?" the father asked.
The boy shook his head and said, "No."
"Was it the one-to-one tutoring? The peer-mentoring?"
"No."
"The textbooks? The teachers? The curriculum?"
"No", said the son.
"On that first day, when I walked in the front door and saw that guy nailed
to the Plus Sign, I KNEW they meant business!"

iNdO - GeRmAn TaLkS

Have been thinking of writing for a few days now.. but just could not get started... the feeling has to come from within to come out with words.. here is what is happening to me in the last few days...
friday april 08..... martina had to come from goa and i was supposed to pick her up from the station...
*flashback*
neha wrote an email saying that some friend of hers was starting on a world tour and india was her first destination.... i was to take care of her when she reaches delhi... and plan her trip around here... martina called from goa on the 6th and told me that she was taking a train that leaves goa at 0500 hrs and reaches delhi at 1700 hrs the next day.. this is where the conversation ended... and i could not find out which train she was taking... finally she called me on the 7th and told me the train number... now i knew which train she was coming in... i still did not know how i will recognise her and how she would know me...

*back to the present in history*
she called me after getting out of the station.. and we met..... i was prepared to use all the accent i learnt in my call centre exp.. roll all the "r"s and let her know thati could speak english well as well :) anyway it was a comfortable introduction.. and we could talk easily... we still had to figure out where she is going to stay... so we moved out of the station... ate raj kachauri at Comesum... and i had a tough time explaining to her what all was there in the dish :) forgot what half of the ingredients are refered to as in angrezi... anyway... from there to Humayun's tomb.. and found out that she was not really interested in forts or castles.. but was very keen in having a look the city.. get to know india from inside.. and not from a tourist point of view....

over the next two days... we talked about india, its culture.. differences in india and germany... how thoughts differ in the two countries... we talked about the gita, Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Pushkar, Ganga, Mahabharata, Pandavas and a lot of other things...we went around the city.. went to dilli haat, india gate, upsc chaat wala, sunday book market at darya ganj, a friend's reception, metro rail, CP, eatopia, noida etc etc.... and the best part.. she spent two nights at a friend's place in def col... he and his wife really took care of her, and she was very happy to be there...

sunday evening.. she went to jaipur and would be back to delhi on friday night... so that we can go to rishikesh for river rafting on saturday morning !!! There were a lot of small small things that I have missed out on.. but i guess i would be able to speak about them instead of putting them in printed words...

This burthday was different too... this time i was wondering about the amazing difference in what she was going at an age of 20 and where I was at 26 years...brought me a thoughts of wondering about what all i have done in the past all years of my existance.. and what i really want to do... where do i really want to go... what is it that i am aiming for in my life... there are a lot of questions that are hitting me from everywhere.. and i am trying to figure out how to move ahead on my way to these answers...

Neha, Bhoomi, Vinod Mama, Danu Dimple, have called me so far... and i have messages from Raina, Nidhi, Adi, Aro, Bindu ma'am, Batra Bawla, Pawan, Dinesh Chacha and my cousins there, Sudip, Priya Rajpal.... and ofcourse.. my cousins Ashu, and Puneet are here with me... When I was talking to neha in the night... they were putting a candle on the cake they brought for me... after I do not know how many years i cut a burthday cake.. it was very sweet of them :) And mom dad are here to gimme all the wishes I need to have a life better and happier...will write more !!!! there is a lot to happen :)

I also got a bouquet in the morning today.. lotsa roses.. and i do not know who sent it across... secret admirers.. or some friends who forgot to tell his/her name to the flowerist... welll... time will tell... still sometime to go before the day ends and i complete 26 years of my existence on this planet earth... lets see how the next few hours go by :)

God bless me !!!!

TaLkiNg 2 StRaNgErS !!!

Tareekh : 5-April'05
Jagah : Cafe Coffee Day
Waqt : Raat ke 9:30 Baje

Me and Tushar had dinner outside yesterday... and then we went for a walk in sector-18.... went to the cafe coffee day in Centre Stage Mall and that is where this discussion started... though Tushar did not do much other then nodding his head and agreeing to me for most of the points but still I feel it was a good conversation...

ME : Yaar, I want to get a part-time job in McDonalds. No no.. not really McDonalds but a cafe like Barista or Cafe Coffee Day.

Toosh : Good idea... but then we do not have that kinda coffee bars where you would be respected as a professional and ppl would like to get into conversations with you. Not like what we see in TV serials on Star or Zee Cafe where you have a coffee bar and ppl come there, meet friends, and talk over coffee or muffins or donuts and the owner of the cafe or for that matter someone who works there is also a part of your conversations and your friend list....

*and this is where the talkative devil in me came to life, and I started speaking about what i felt and Toosh kud only say hmm or nod his head*

Me : Very true... I can only stand over the counter and serve.. nothing else... but then there is another thought that comes to my mind... why don't we have new friends being made in such cafes... or for that matter.. how many times do you remember yourself approaching a group or an individual to talk just like that... now, why does that happen.... here is what i feel why that happens :
1) Most guys are looking for women with whom they end up in a dark corner of a street with or in bed with... and not really looking around for friends...
2) Most women know that they are being looked at and approached only to be treated as sex objects.. and definitely do not like to be approached by strangers...
3) The genuine guys also get treated as some road side onlookers who are only looking around for girlfriends.
4) I have not seen a gal ever approaching a guy, probably because she will be treated as a despo or something...
*This is where I stopped*

*afterthoughts*
This is something that happens or does not happen out on the streets, in the malls, in the cafes, in restaurants... as Tushar said rightly that we have so much fear of rejection in our minds that we do not even smile when we have an eye contact with ppl while walking driving... we carry our expressionless face just perfectly during all those moments which otherwise would help us break the ice !!!

I feel that once we start feeling that what we do not have to start off with any relationship whether short or long term thinking that we have to achieve something out of it.. but take it as something that carries on.. something that does not endup in bed or in a car... something that is for your mind and for yourself as a person...

There are a lot of things that I am thinking at the same time right now.. from why don't we have good thought provoking conversations to making new friends and new places to why don't we approch people without the fear of being rejected....and i think i have mixed up some of the many thoughts that came to me...

might be continued...

OrKuT MeEtS iN DeLhi !!!

So orkut finally meets in Delhi... some faces some ppl who i had met virtually came alive... had read them for sometime.. but seeing them in person was a thought that made me nervous, that made me excited, thoda sa tense... if it was not for aseem, who i know for more then an year now, I would have been really uncomfortable meeting this new gang...

so there I was in Ansals plaza, at 1850 hrs... well 10 minute ahead of time.. and as expected, there was no one to greet me as a celebrity in the Barista :) so i got up and went to place where I feel at home... Music World... looking at all the movies that I want to watch, and the ones that I want to buy... i picked up Lakshya, i like that movie a lot... but later i kept it back... at the end of my 20 odd minute visit to the music world I came out happier with Top Gun, Face Off, That thing you do, and the hindi comedy Masti....

back to barista around 1925 hours... ask the counter fella if there are ppl from Orkut there... and he looks at me with a face which tells me that he has not heard this word ever... anyway.. i order my fav. Mango smooothieeeeeee.. and settle down on a table near the rear exit of the coffee bar... meri kismat.. the only newspaper i could manage to get to read there was "financial times" i do not have a clue about what was written that paper..except that one article about cars and insurance caught my attention and helped me learn something more about the entire insurance thingie... while i was reading that.. some guy came and asked for the paper.. and took that greek of a paper away from me :)

anyway... called up aseem to find out where he was and he with jassi praji and the night nisha managed to reach there around 1940 hours... IST is it? Indian Strechable time :) and talked for a while.. after the introductions and were joined by Bhaskar and another friend of his... Can't remember his name... did he even tell it? can't even remember that... anyway.. i finished my smoothie... we took a couple of pictures of the gang... nisha and jassi went to the bookshop to get some tarot cards, and me, aseem, bhaskar and his friend continued talking.. it was good to see that there was a good amount of comfort in that meeting...

Getting bored of sitting in barista, we moved out to the amphie theatre... and sat there for a while, before jassi and nisha joined us back... now we decided to eat... offered jassi some south indian food, and he hated the idea.. hehehehe.. he has been in banglore for a while now.. and going to hyderabad.. what else do you expect... nisha wanted to have a burger... and she wanted to have it from pizza express for some reason... bhaskar and the friend, were open to eat anywhere.. i suggested bangali sweets in south ex. but that did not click.. so my next proposal was to go to my fav. restaurant in the India Habitat Centre, Eatopia... i just love that place.... so we all agreed to meet there again... in a while ofcourse... CUT !!!

Dilli meets in eatopia : Scene II : we met again... took some pictures again.. and talked... aseem and jassi and nisha went and ordered some food and got it later too.. so that we all could eat... nisha maidam got some nachos and some sauce.. which would now be famous as "Papad ke tukde and Tamatar ki Chatni"... and we also ate some tandoori rotis and makhni dal :) masta food i tell you... spent about 45 odd minutes in there.. and then decide to call it a day... hoping to meet again soon... for another wonderful evening....

here is something about all the ppl i met

Aseem : still the same cool dude always good with words and has a lot of energy...
Jassi : very calm quiet and a composed fella... very talkative on orkut and a completely different individual in person for starters i think.. i think i takes his time and starting to speak.... thoda bolo par achcha bolo.. aisa wala hai wo !!!
Bhaskar and his friend : Engineers in making, bhasker from NSIT, and his friend from DCE... good fellas..nice company.. good to talk to...
Nisha : dominating and authoritative lady... does not understand what is written "agar hum hindi ko english mein likhen..." :)
and finally me: as good or as bad as ever... talked to everyone, was nervous in the beginning, though i am sure no one noticed...and quite comfy later... a part of the gang !!!

chalen.. bas karte hain... this was all about this meeting on the April Fools day.. turned out to be one day I would like to remember for a long time...
_________________________________________
This day also reminded me that it was one complete year that i had left Hughes... time really flies by....i feel good that I still am in touch with a lot of ppl there.. and have not lost out on the gem of the friends i have made in that organisation...

dO gUyS aNd GaLs DiFfEr !!!

Have been thinking over this for a few days now...

Are gurls any different when it comes to choosing a boyfriend and/or a husband as compared to guys when they are on the lookout for a gurlfriend/wife...
I will start with what guys usually look out for... (This is not about me or anyone in specific, but what I have seen and noticed)
Gurlfriend :
~ Should look good, no no.. should look reeealy good...
~ Should be able to go out when we have time...
~ Should be...........
damn !!!! I cannot figure out what guys want from a girlfriend.... oh yes....
~ Should not start talking about commitment and all...
~ Should be open to physical relations...

And when it comes to getting married, we completly change our stands.. and want a different person as a wife...
~ She not being very beautiful is ok, she basically should understand me and my family...
~ Spending time together is essential, but not at the cost of individual space and independence...
~ Should be commited towards me and my family...
~ Should not have any history of affairs...

Strange how we want two completely different persons in our lives at different stages... I guess most of the affairs turn to relationships and then to marriages as the two ppl involved grow together from the first stage to second and so on...

Why such relationships do not work out.. no idea... i guess because the expectations start changing, life becomes different... not too sure though... someone would need to gimme some gyan on this...

Coming back to the main thought... is there is a difference of stands when gurls are looking at boy friends and husbands... Some might agree and some might not.. Some might get angry hearing this, and some might just ignore it...
Boyfriend:
~ Should be smart...
~ Should have a vehicle to roam around in the town...
~ Should have money to spend as well...
~ Should be commited...

Husbands:
~ Should be fairly good looking... Does not really matter if he is very smart or not...
~ Should be career and family oriented...
~ and so on..... not able to find a lot of words here....

i feel i have not been able to write all what we want and need in the points mentioned above.. but the idea is to figure out myself and with the help of a few ppl who read this blog.. how our expectations.. our aims, our needs change at different stages of our lives... at one point of time we are looking forward to just a good time and companionship... though that continues throughout our lives.. but after a while, some other thoughts and expectations take over.. when we start expanding our thoughts to things which would make our life stable and worth living...

i guess its more like having different coloured balls in a big bucket, every colour is a quality that we need in our partner... at one stage of life, we want some colours and and at a later time, we want to shake the bucket and have the other colours too...

I am also waiting for some colours to come to my life.. wonder what kinda would they be :)

tHuRsDaY NiTe @ HuGhEs !!!

This was written on saturday morning.. holi-day.. but i did not have any net connection for the last two days and could not post it....

Thursday evening.. spent inthe company of some great friends... here is what happened... i went to Flextronics Software Systems BPO ( When i joined and left that company it was Hughes BPO) after my office....
first went to saket bought some movies... ek to jhankaar beats kharidi and the other one the play by Omar sharif "Buddha Ghar Pe Hai". I really like all his plays... ek dum full time masti... so from there i directly went to Aro's place, and saw the play for sometime before going to hughes.... around 2230 i reached there.. and called nishant and all outside...

we sat and talked and talked and talked.. and it was my mom's call that reminded me that i had to be home by midnight and it was already 0100 hrs... anyway... mom had woken up because of some dogs barking outside our house and was kinda concerned that i was still not home... i asked her to go off to sleep as i was planning to be in hughes for some more time... well that sometime was till 0330 hrs which i realised later on...

anyway during all this time we were 4 of us, joined by more ppl at sometimes... but primarily it was me, Aro, Nishant and Sanjit who were talking... then Shubhadeep, Arun Salwan and a few more came in... We have planned to meet on Sunday afternoon @ Fun & Food village for a weekend blast... i am expecting about 15 guys to be there on sunday... let see what happens...

I feel so much at home when i am with friends at hughes... When I joined this company in 2003, we were still very young...young professionals you can say... i was in the first batch for voice.. and in the second batch overall... got trained for only a week before we had to join the production floor... I also had the opportunity to cut the cake in Feb 2003, as I took the first ever customer call that came to Hughes BPO.. What a feel that was... Something that started with me and my batch is going places today.. one of the best places to work in.. not because the management is good, or the infra piece is good... but because the kinda supervisors in that place...the Team leads from my batch take some pride in being a part of the group and take every task up as if its their personal goal... I feel I am very fortunate to be in the company of such hardcore professionals... who even in the bad image of "call centres" have kept Hughes away from the entire bad part of the BPO industry and helped make each other grow, personally and professionally... Thank you God for making me know ppl like these......

oh and yes.. today is holi... Have a blast everyone...Hope our lives are as beautiful and colourful as the colours of holi...

God Bless everyone...

Today is a day to write...
Why... this is why... I wrote an email to a friend Ajay.... he is with ST Micro... i had lost contact with my school buddies after i moved out of school for i do not remember what reasons.. but still i feel that whatever said and done.. my comfort level with them did not go down.. i am saying this because of the feel that i had after i talked to him... he is one guy who is one of the most hardworking chaps i have ever known.. always on the move.. always willing to work harder and learn more.. and i am happy to find him the same today as well... God bless Ajay, and God bless Gita... who is she? uski biwi hai bhai :)

and then Ajay gave me the number of another of my very dear friends... Alok Gupta... pyaar se baniya bulate the hum usse... had a good 20 minutes of conversation with him... and was happy to see that he was on way to success as well... great chap.. God bless him too...

Its my mistake that i have missed out on many good friends.. because of a lot of reasons.. but i want to get back to them.. it was fun when we were school kids.. and i sure things have changed for all us.. but being in the company of them would still be fun...

God bless them all...

2nd fRee sErViCe !!!

Radha went for her second free service today, at 7560 kms... 6 months have passed by very quickly.. and a lot has happened during this time... and i am happy that whatever happened happened...seems that i am over-obsessed with my car... i guess a lot of reasons why this is there... i experienced love at first sight for the first time in my life when i saw this car... and then when i bought it.. there was so much content such a great satisfaction of buying my OWN first car... the purchase left me with no money to get a deck.. but then finally i got one deck as well... after a good wait... and during that time.. i had a small radio in mycar. which used to play FM.. driving without music is something that i just could not do.. and then when i finally got my system in the car.. i have loved it.... jussssssssssssst loved it.. the best time of my day is when i driving to the office and coming back.. or driving for anywhere.. whenever...

this is where i wrote about my deck...http://rightmore.blogspot.com/2004/11/have-some-fear-dpalio-is-here_07.html.

Today I think about getting an amplifier and a base tube in the car.. there are not many branded base tubes available around.. infact the only one that i have seen so far is the blaupunkt one.. lets see that looks like a good tube at 5K, there is another tube... Blaupunkt only.. some Velocity segment.. 4250.. that also needs to be looked at... and then a 4-channel amplifier.. lets see.. i guess the entire package would not be anything less then 10000 bucks.. but then i want to spend it.. not right away... but after I buy some RAM, and All-in-One, a Camera ( digital or SLR), a DVD Player... hehehhee.. the list is endless.. so are the expenses.. but then that's life....khush raho mast raho vyast raho...

hey Tushar yesterday sent me an sms... Here it is: V never have what we like, v never like what v have, still v live, love n hope that sum day v'll get what v love, or luv what v have. That's life...
Phir likhunga zindagi !!!

hey and btw.. Radha is shining like new today.. this second coat of teflon is making her looooooooooook sexier then yesterday.....

ShAaDi Ka LaDdOo :)

Waquar came home today... he is getting married on the 27th of this month.. i am very very happy for him.. one gem of a person.... I am sure Saba would be very very happy to have someone like Waquar in her life... He got a beautiful Beige Sherwani for 27th and a black one for 9th. that's when the reception is... or rather call it "Dawate-Walima"... I am planning to get him a stole for his reception.. and my radha would be taking him and saba to the reception area from their house.. i am happy to be a part of this wedding... in whatever way possible.. he is a very dear friend.. and it feels good to see him getting settle down...

Ok.. now the interesting part.. so Waquar comes home.. and bhadkaos mom about she getting me married as well.. arre bhala ye koi baat hai.. teri shaadi ho rahi hai to aish kar.. mereko kyon fasata hai bhai.... then started the discussions of what kinda girl i want to get married.. when should i get married and all those things... I personally feel that the girl that i get married to should have something that I have always longed for in myself... i guess i have always wanted to do something related to music.. and if I can get someone who has some hold on music.. its going to be great....then comes another thought... i still have my roots and attachment in the village... where for obvious reasons ppl are not as open minded and open cultured as saddi dilli.. so this girl who comes into my life and becomes my better half would need to be equally comfortable when we are in the company of ppl in delhi, or around ppl from my village... can that happen.. too much to ask for is it... but i guess if that does not happen.. then there would be issues...i feel in my marriage.. respect for the individual would play the most important role... and then comes love, trust, faith, compromise, responsibility, learning, and so on and so forth... i need to have someone who I would look upto for the rest of my life.. someone i would surrender to.. someone who would be confident enough to surrender to me.. and yet ensure that i am treated like a baby... and a spoilt brat at times.... hehehehe.... i am surprised to see that my expectations are kinda stupid.. i need to be treated like a kid even after i am married....someone who makes me learn things.. someone who knows how to control.. someone who is energetic.. someone who takes pride in what i do.. someone who knows when to shout at me and when to take me in her arms to make me cry.. and still feel better...

hey, but am i thinking about only myself.. i guess i am.. is that right.. i guess it is... bhai afterall.. let her tell me what she wants.. andi will do it.. simple...

tRiP 2 DiLLi !!!

I have not written for a while... missed out on writing about a "trip to Delhi"... Why calling it a trip to delhi.. well keep reading.. you will know...

I have been in the NCR all my life.. well now close to 26 years... 10th April 2345 hrs would see me complete 26 years in this country, in this city, and I was surprised to find out that I had never visited the Qutab Minar... i have driven down to Agra to see the Agra fort, I have been to the Fateh Pur Sikri.. but how come I missed out on this monument... well.. i never stop surprising myself.. anyway... last saturday, Charu, my cousin came from Assam and was stayin with us for a day before moving on to her Engineering Institute in Longowal, Punjab... I had also asked another cousin of mine Ashu, to come over so that we three could freak out together... and so it happened... we decided to go to the Qutab Minar... I am happy we did that... i just loved it... somehow i feel some peace with broken and old forts and such buildings.. i can spend any amount of time there... why... I have no clue so do not ask me... we took at lot of pictures as well... old stones, broken walls, all the possible shades of brown in those stones and walls, the greenary... everything was making me feel good...I think i will visit all the monuments in Delhi... Humayun's Tomb, Lal Quila, Qutab Minar, Tuglaqabad forts...Bas ek camera kharid loon....
Baki to life is as usual.... same old work... same old office.. sab old people around...

and before i forget i am kinda excited and nervous about meeting this group of people on the 1st of April... some friends from Orkut have taken this initiative of meeting next to next week.. lets see how it goes.. its going to fun... i am hoping it does...

pHuLL TP !!

Not much has happened since i last wrote on the blog...

1) Bharti's security policy does not allow my blog to be visited from the office network.. it has been blocked...

2) I had a good weekend... went to aro's place on saturday after a training in the office and then came back in the night.. he bought be a soft toy.. rather i made him buy one for me...khud to wo kuch nai dega kabhi bhi... and then i tricked him into buying some CDs and tapes.. for himself.. heheheh.. sahi paise kharch hue uske.. but i am sure the money spent was worth it... in the evening watched Page 3.. and felt bad about the cultural erosion the society is going through...still feeling bad about it... next morning sunday... got up at 1100 hrs.. did not do anything but selected some songs that he wanted to take along with him... and then burnt a cd for him to take along...evening was spent with some old guys from hughes.. some of them still with Hughes ( now flextronics) and some with Bharti teletech... good fun it was... after a long long time i got a chance to lie down on grass.. and it was so cewl.. did that while waiting for some guys to join us when we were in the ansals plaza.... slept around 2300 hrs... and tushar called up at midnight to discuss a issue chunna was facing with the camera her chachi got.. which was resolved... not by me.. but chunna herself.. she is a smart gurl.....

3) monday was as usual unwanted.. first day of the week.. never is welcomed :) anyway... tuesday was an off so i was kinda happy about it.. the day went as usual.. work and more....

4) tuesday, mahashivratri... kept a fast... yes Me, I had a fast on tuesday... hehehehehe... and the day was good... slept for most of the time.... relaxed... mast din thaa...

5) wednesday.. back to office.. same ol' schedule... with some new tasks ahead... also Aruna called from Direcway to tell me that my name was shortlisted for the course from IITD that I had applied for.... good now i have something to study every weekend... its going to be hectic... its going to be tough... but i am looking forward to it....

6) Thursday today... Neha's parents' 25th Marriage Anniversary... and guess who was the first one to wish them... hehehehehe.. yes yes folks.. it was me... Pao the great !!!! Infact even uncle had not wished aunty and aunty had not wished uncle... mainse sabse pehle kiya.. and ofcourse along with my wishes were the wishes of neha... who is a li'il far away from all of us these days... but its all in the mind set i guess...

7) Pawan wrote a stinker on the blog.. about me not talking to him... and he does not pick up his phone when i call.. i actually have been trying to talk to him for over a week and he never picks up his phone.. idiot kahin ka...

that's it for today.. more sometime later... when... mujhe bhi nai pata !!!!

WaLkiNg @->--

i am victim of mood swing syndrome these days... sometime in my day i will be happy and delighted... and then i will be sad and alone... and then i will get angry over small things.. and then get irritated by things which i usually ignore easily otherwise....

sahi hai.. kehte hain jo hota hai achche ke liye hota hai... par wo achcha kab hota hai... yeh kaise pata chale... on this journey called life there are so many halts.. so many stops.. so many turns... twists... resorts... and we experience it all.. we walk on the rough country side road with no lights in the nights.. and also drive on the cemented roads in broad day light... and we still carry on...

we at times share our luggage with someone.. or take their load... and then again move on.. with our bags with us... we stop for a while to chat with a few friends... who happen to be there at that time.. and then because someone called.. either they go away or we move on...

there comes a time when we feel that life is coming to a halt.. its going to stop.. and we cannot move any further.. but there like every rose has its thorn.. every night has its dawn.. we see that ray of light showing us the path of move on.. and we walk.. towards we do not know who... towards we do not know what...

am walking... still walking....

gALTi !!! d'MiShTaKe

today in the evening i saw a movie... and the name of the Movie was "bewafa"... why did i see it... well.. vinay is in the town.. the same guy i went to ajmer and pushkar with ( that gave me so much to talk about with neha)... ok.. so we went to this place in noida.. Centerstage Mall... and vinay stood in the line to get the tickets for Page 3... i really wanted to watch that movie.. but for some reason.. instead of page 3 he bought the tickets for Bewafa...

Bewafa is not a movie... bewafa is a mistake... a mistake by anil kapoor...akshay kumar...manoj bajpai and that good for nothing Kareen Kapur. what a waste of time it was..basically if ppl have seen Murder ( arre wo Mallika Sherawat wali movie) Bewafa is basically just a flashback of that... kareena loves akshay, sush is kareena's sister, anil is sush's hubby... sush dies at childbirth leaving twin girls behind, kareena leaves akshay to marry anil to take care of the babies and the family, anil cannot forget sush, no time for kareena, anil realises he needs to change, and at that time akshay meets kareena... lost love blooms again.. no steamy scenes though...anyway... and then anil and manoj plan to let kareena decide what she really wants to do.. and then the world famous in delhi dialogue by Kareena "Raja, ek patni bewafa ho sakti hai... ek premika bewafa ho sakti hai.. par raja...Ek maa Bewafa nai ho sakti" Uffffffffffff... kya dialogue thaa... meri to aankon mein aansoon aa gaye.. dil to kara ek rakh ke doon kaan ke neeche saare actors or director ko...aur producer ko bhi...

anyway.. somehow that snail of a movie finished and i rushed home to talk to nanu.. but she was not yet home... am waiting... lets see when can she manage sometime today...
hey..and a word of advise... PLEASE DOOOOOO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE.. PLEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ

RRRRiiiiiiiiiiiNNNNgggggggg !!!!

The day starts with a ring... and the ring tone is.... Pehla Nasha Pehla Khumar :) I pickup the phone & I cannot beleive my ears... Chinki called up :) i was so shocked to hear her voice after so many days that i just did not know what to speak and how to speak... though managed to ask her how she was doing.. how were things... was she taking care of herself or not... and then after 3 minutes and 12 seconds we hung up... and then came the thoughts.... soooooooooo many of them... things that i had to ask her.. things that i had to tell.... and i was like.. Prashant beta.. you are such a dodo... and i was kinda feeling bad about not being able to talk to her properly for so many days.. but it was for sure such a wonderful feeling to get that call.. what a perfect start to the weekend...the voice that i had been missing for so many days...

hey thanks Chinki for that call...

So about two hours later... i decide to call up.. and this time it was her turn to get surprised... hehehehehe.. life is good... after short talk which made me feel soooooooooooo better.. not because this time i could talk about all the things that came to my mind after the morning's call.. but because i could talk.. that feeling was and is great !!! i can keep smiling.. and somehow my "call centre" training is helping here during all these conversations... what we were taught is to imagine what our customer is going thru when we are on the call with him/her. Try to visualise the person.. and i think we all do it.. when we are not able to see the person we are talking to rather communicating with.. we tend to think what that person is doing.. what is (s)he looking like... what is the kinda place (s)he is in and so on....

dunnno what i am writiing.. but it was great talking to you chinki.. thanks again...

Qs, gUiTaRs, ScReAmS, pArTiNG & tEaRs !!!

saturday evening started with rock... 6 bands from all over delhi coming together to perform and showcase their talent in the "9th Great Indian Rock 2005". Out of the 6 bands... 3 were from delhi and they were really awesome.. one thing worth mentioning here was.. the 5 band to perform in this GIR, Nakshatra.. the foundation of this band was laid in the basement of my very own college, PGDAV and i remember jamming along and listening to what they played !!!! Sumit was the guy who was the lead guitarist of this band and also the vocalist.. and on sat. he was there playing the leads for the same band... felt really neat when i could see them perform in one of the most sought after rock band competitions !!!!

the GIR was over in the early night and then me and Tushar, moved towards the domestic terminal, Palam Airport. The occasion... Neha was going to Germany in the night... and we were going to drop her...Something that i knew was always going to happen and never wanted to come face to face with it... we had not been able to talk to each other properly for a few days because of her being really busy with her packing and all.. and even at the airport.. i felt so awkward, felt a li'il out of place coz she was there with her family and i was more of an outsider...
she was going to go.. and i could feel that pain inside me already...of having a friend go away... of not having someone who i could just visit whenever i want...and things that cannot be put into words... i was there just looking at her and the conversations going on between her and the family and also managed to sneak in a few words myself when needed...

finally not before long, the time for her to go was right there greeting us with the devilish smile... and there was nothing that we all could do... i had to let go... shook her hand.. wished her.. and kept looking at her going with she waving to all her family members and me.... she went inside the airport and i kept looking till she vanished in that large sea of ppl who were going to some place or the other...

the feeling while coming back was very awkward... i could feel the hollow inside me... a friend had gone today.. things would change.. life would change...and ofcourse still continue... she would reach germany and start with her confenrence..and after a month to Paris and start with her research.. get busy in her work and and make me proud with all the amazing work she'z gonna do...

after i woke up in the afternoon .. i was feeling really miserable...the heart was really really heavy... i knew she was not where she used to be one day before and that feeling was almost killing me...the entire time we managed to spend together in the past few months flashed in front of my eyes.. and could smile... but the hollow was there... it made me really really sad...
in the evening i tried calling her up at her hotel...could not get thru the first time...and then talked to the security team of her hotel who could not transfer my call to her room and then spent some time listening to the IVR in God knows how many languages before i hung up the next two times i called...

finally managed to talk to her around 2130 my time.. anf was really calm after that.. infact happy to hear the voice of one of my best friends...and happy that she was fit and fine there... i am happy for her.. and i hope she does really well.. she has a presentation tmrw and i am sure she is going to do that very nicely...

Thank you God for giving me the pleasure of such great friends...

and pawan really helped me get back to normal while i was feeling miserable during all this.. thanks pawan...and tushar helped me and her folks out with the number of the hotel room.. thanks tushar...

God bless us all....

mAgS !!!! nOw a MarRiEd wOmAn !!!

Mags got married, with Abhishek today.... they got married in the day and the reception was in the evening... i guess i was the only friend of mags' there before priya and naveen came in (you know they have been together since prep class and are not a wonderfully married couple, God bles them )...felt excited.. felt awkward.. felt strange.. kinda many feelings together... me and mags we together in college, though she was one year junior to me.. and was a very active member of the drama society... and while i was there and when i left.. she was taking very very good care of the cultural society as well in college...

an excellent designer, good actor, good writer... she is a wonderful human being as well... someone who has been around while i was going thru my rough patches with bhoomi and then shikha...

even after we passed out from college... we could manage to keep in touch somehow.. she went to jaipur for her master's course in designing... though i could not visit her even once in these so many years in jaipur.. but we managed to catch up thru emails or phone calls at times...
then she went to panipat to work for a rug factory as a designer...she was handling customers from Europe and US i guess for this firm actually...and all thru these years... her relationship with Abhishek grew stronger and stronger.. and finally today they got married... i am really happy for them.. and was happy to see myself there when she was starting one of the most important journeys of her life...

Mags and me had a couple of agreements.. dunno if they will ever be completed or not...one is she taking care of the room that i will stay in, basically do the designing rather paint a wall in that room to be specific...and the second that i would give her space in my three storey mall.. for a designer showroom which she can use the way she wants.. have a boutique she can have that.. or have a store where ppl find things which are rare to find...genuine art...dunno if any of these can ever come true.. she would be going to Ooty in another 2-3 months to settle down there....
This brings me to another school of thought...do you really need to plan for your life... i mean... there are so many things that you think you will do when you start thinking about life as a long term achievement opportunity.. but the way life takes its turns... things can really turn out different from what you expected...

even i had thought about a lot of things in my life.. but then life kept taking different turns and twists and i am where i am today... though not at all sad about how things are right now in terms of my life.. but then there is always a balance of good and the not so good in your life.. lemme recall what are the not so good things that i feel happened to me.. and what all good things kept me going !!!

1) BAD : I could not get thru engineering.. that was a real setback to my parents..who had high hopes with me... Good: I joined B.Sc. Mathematical Sciences.. one of the best courses in DU and then got an opportunity to be a part of the Cultural Society... helped me spend the best three years of my life in PGDAV college...

2) BAD : I had to breakup with Bhoomi, even though there was nothing wrong between us, but i chose to keep my parents happy instead of continuing with the relationship... Good : I had the perfect relationship with bhoomi, an understanding that most of the couples would just dream of, and had over 3 years of a great friendship, companionship, understanding, commitment, fun and laughter with her.. and at the end of it, I understood my commitment towards my parents and my family in the entire painful breakup episode...

3) Bad : Did not get a job in IT after i completed my masters in software systems.. the IT industry went for a toss... GOOD: I still got a job, though in a "call centre", spectramind.. where i could lay the foundation of a strong career and was guided by the best boss in the world, Bindu Krishnan. I have never met any professional more refined then her.. and she remains and always will remain as the best professional i have met..if i want to be like someone in my life.. then i wish to God that bring me closer to her maturity and understanding of life...

4) Bad : Got into another relationship.. which did not last for long, and gave me a hell of a time...Good : This one bad relationship taught me wht the good friends never could... i grew up thanks to this affair to an more mature and a less emotionally controlled person.. someone who could be out of control from his heart and still keep his brain working for the situation

5) Bad : Neha is going away... BEST : The kinda respect i got as an individual from her, the love and affection and friendship that is going to bind us together even if there are distances physically, her work which makes me proud of her, and her efforts to improve me as a person.. thank you neha for being such a great friend... I have never in my met someone like u and i doubt that i will ever meet a person who is such a perfect example of beauty with brains ever again....

and before i close this post... congratulations and my best wishes to Meghana aka Mags and Abhishek for a happy married life... hope everyday in life brings more smiles and joys to them... and they live happily ever after..................

i really wanted to write something today.. but there is no flow of thoughts... and if there is any.. it really is not making any sense... have deleted two cpmplete paragraphs after writing...

maybe i am not in a state to share the state of ma' mind !!!! needs a li'il regathering of thoughts...

hUh !!!

I have always thought about expectations and how they make you weak.. how they make you loose control over yourself as a person.. how easily they make you like someone or get angry when that someone does not meet some of your expectations...

its strange how even after I knowing everything and probably understanding most of it get into the trap of expectations...were the lessons learnt last year not good enough for me or what...

today prashant is angry with himself... and he promises himself YET AGAIN... that he is going to improve as a human being...as a person... easier said then done... human after all a human... can't really fight nature.. can i...

MoTiVaTiOn

Motivation... different times.. different sources... this one came from one of my dear friends Aseem... in an email.. made a lot of sense so thought of pasting it here.. instead of emailing it to everyone in the address book...

Five steps to staying positive in a negative world:
1. Understand that failure is an event, it is not a person. Yesterday ended last night; today is a brand new day, and it's yours. You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win, and then you can expect to win.

2. Become a lifetime student. Learn just one new word everyday and in five years you will be able to talk with just about anybody about anything. When your vocabulary improves, your I.Q. goes up 100% of the time, according to Georgetown Medical School.

3. Read something informational or inspirational every day. Reading for 20 minutes at just 240 words per minute will enable you to read 20, 200-page books each year. That's 18 more than the average person reads! What an enormous competitive advantage . . . if you'll just read for 20 minutes a day.

4. The University of Southern California reveals that you can acquire the equivalent of two years of a college education in three years just by listening to motivational and educational cassettes on the way to your job and again on the way home. What could be easier?

5. Start the day and end the day with positive input into your mind. Inspirational messages cause the brain to flood with feel-good-about-yourself neurotransmitter. Begin and end the day by reading or doing something positive!

Dunno if this brings a change in the life of people who read this.. but its making sense to me.. how well i put this into practise is something that time will tell.. coz i have that real bad laid back attitude.. andi have to do something to fix that.. any suggestions on how i improve this about myself..

oVeR d'WeEkeNd !!!

Two days, 48 hours… how do they go by you… just can’t realise… anyway…there was some activity that happened in the last two days…
Saturday spent with Neha and Tushar again...Seems that my entire life is revolving around these two people these days :) anyway… we went to Nehru place to get our computers fixed and also buy some stuff… bought two web cams, 50 CDRs, 2 CDRWs, 1 CD case, and one brand new computer… though that was taken home by sushant...he was there with his sister and jijaji to buy a machine…

We spent a good 4 hours at the shop in Nehru place while the machines were being repaired and a new one being assembled…and then went to neha’s place to install the two web cams that we had bought…and somehow messed up with her NIC settings and she could not connect to the net anymore with her desktop…hehehehe.. Anyway... we left in the evening... tushar dropped me home…and then rushed to his place to get ready for office…

Yesterday...

Sunday was a less active day... spent most of the time in front of my desktop yesterday…copying CDs, downloading music and all…went to the market in the evening to buy the VCD of ICE AGE…one of the animation movies I love to love…

And back again in the office today…another week to go…waiting for Saturday to come over again…so that I can spend another weekend...doing something or the other…but I think I seriously need to think about doing something worthwhile in the weekends…

What can be done? Rather what all would I like to do over a weekend:

~Learn Guitar
~Study (something relevant to my job)
~Meet friends
~Watch a movie

Can’t really figure out… will need help as to what all can be done to make these two days count !!!

CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS !!!

This is about me and my blog... something that started in September 2004...my first blog... here is what I wrote...

“I would like to trigger a discussion on how life treats us and how it should be treated...when do we take risks in terms of education, jobs, and when is the right time for trying to settle down...when do you think money would drive discussions about changing jobs and when we start looking for a job if we are now looking for a profile change.. maybe more responsibilities.. and so on....”

When I read today.. I am like... what was I thinking when I wrote this... was the entire world waiting for me to start writing or what... :) I am smiling today on what I wrote on the 15th of September...but seems that I have come a long way from there...my need to depend on people for my emotional outbursts has reduced...I feel more independent emotionally now, more stable and also I feel that there are a few friends like Tushar, Pawan, Neha, Aarti, Vimita, Raina and a few more who are reading my blog but I am not aware of would be able to know what I am upto always.. So basically we keep in touch directly or indirectly.

I do not know where each of us is heading...but still I feel that I am doing that li’il which would keep me close to my friends... God bless them all!!!

Now why I really am writing this post... to congratulate myself on complete a 1000 visitors J I am not sure if about 50% of these visits are mine... but still that leaves me with 500 visits to my page J and I am really happy for myself...Actually I am feeling as if I am getting the attention that I always want!!! and thanks to everyone who reaches this page... by mistake or intentionally...spends a minute or more reading what is written...or closes the window...feels like commenting on what I have written...or ignores me thinking that I am one more of those stupid freaks who is completely confused in life...I reached the count of a 1000 visits...What follows is a break of what has been happening on this page since November 17:

Visits:
Total: 1028
Average per Day: 20
Average Visit Length: 4:45

I am happy!!!

TwO gUyS, a GirL, aNd a PizZa pLaCe !!!

Prarthna was the elder of the two daughters at home, which meant she had to be the one taking up more responsibilities, being the one who is following the right path and hence be an example for the younger sister who was about 10 years younger to her. Prarthna was an intelligent student and was very focussed and dedicated towards things she wanted to achieve in life. The restrictions at home, the people around ensured that she stayed back home after school or college or work and spent time doing things, which most of the girls in today’s metropolitan life run and shy away from.

Kabir had been through similar phases in life, but at this point in time was a much more independent person. He had been through his bad phases and good phases of life and these days was enjoying a satisfying bachelor’s life with a good job in hand. But something inside him used to keep pinching him all the time. He had been through a very bad relationship, and had made up his mind not to get into another ever. And at the same point of time knew that he needed someone to share his days with. Kinda confused guy he was about having someone in his life or not.

Utkarsh, on the other hand was a person who was a very good human being and he did not realise that a lot of people like him for what he had with him. He used to be sad about things that he noticed that were not with him. He was working in a good firm with good prospects and was working towards getting better there as well looking for better opportunities these days. Also Utkarsh was a college mate of Kabir. These two guys knew each other for over 4 years now but they had never sat down and discussed themselves or their lives as friends... acquaintances we can say they were...

Kabir met Prarthna through internet; initially they were using only emails. And Emails which were pages long, coz for some reason, both Prarthna and Kabir were pouring out to each other through this channel.

Then one day this happened:
Kabir went to Meerut for a family function where for some reason he had to be connected to the internet and there she was Prarthna, online on a messenger screen...Happy and excited Kabir said a Hi to her to which there was a prompt reply. This was just coincidence that both of them were online at the same time. And this is when Kabir gave her his phone number and asked her to call him up once he was back in Delhi.

She called but the first conversation was on the best conversation they had...Kabir was busy with his work and he did not want to keep the phone down either, Prarthna as usual had a lot of words to share this time too... And then Kabir fell ill... too bad a state he was in, and Prarthna with her phone calls kept him going. He started liking her for her thoughts, and respecting her more then liking her for whatever he was learning about her, and about the a lot of things which was knew existed but had not seen or felt. He became a li’il better and could work on his computer now, which meant that he could talk to Prarthna the entire day through the net which he did...

Utkarsh also came to know Prarthna during this while, from Kabir and started liking her. Infact by this time, both Utkarsh and Kabir were in love with Prarthna, and she was good friend of both of them. Kabir and Utkarsh were getting to be good friends too these days... and with time Prarthna developed emotions (which can be labelled as love towards Kabir)
So basically leaving Kabir happier, and Utkarsh sad again... coz of one more thing that he did not have. A classic love triangle this was becoming. Also Kabir and Utkarsh were able to talk about this situation freely with each other which was the good part, but this left a very hollow feeling with Kabir, as he started thinking would things have been different between Prarthna and Utkarsh if he was not there.

While these three were trying to cope up with their own emotional baggage, Prarthna got a job offer in Australia which she could not miss as she had been working for it for a lot time and finally she got the opportunity. 45 days left for Prarthna to join the firm and 45 days left for this classic love story to turn the way destiny had planned.

Utkarsh wanted to get out of his frame of mind, and move on...which was difficult coz after ages he had really felt for a girl like he was feeling for Prarthna. He was expressive and vocal about his feelings and in a way that wa very hard for any girl to avoid... Kabir on the other hand was a very demanding boyfriend... but he also loved Prarthna a lot and I guess the time that he was able to spend with her, made her get inclined towards him.

Prarthna had to go to Australia in a few days... she loved Kabir and really liked Utkarsh. The feelings were distinct and different. She knew Utkarsh loved her, but she could not love him back...but for what Utkarsh was, he was someone worth loving a lot; this is something that Kabir felt!!! Prarthna was going away...to return in 4 years... Kabir knew that he could not leave the thought of Prarthna, but the reality of life was that he had to let go...

All three of these friends had to let go...Kabir had to let go his love, and he knew that he would have to get married in another year to girl his parents choose for him, Utkarsh had to let go his love too, first because she loved his friend, and then again because she was going away. Prarthna had to let go her love, coz she knew that she had to be out of her country for 3 years, and her contract said that she could not marry before her project finishes.

Kabir would be back to his previous self after Prarthna goes, with a pain inside his heart, and a hollow inside his soul...

Utkarsh would continue living life the way he always left, with fond memories of his love, and the love he could not get...

Prarthna would go away from her family, her friend, her love alone in a country, where she would be doing what she always wanted to...

Is love supposed to leave you like this!!! Who would tell...?

Why is this story Named: TwO gUyS, a GirL, aNd a PizZa pLaCe !!!
B’coz Prarthna, Utkarsh and Kabir, all three of them were together in front of each other only once... In Nirula’s (The pizza Place)

LoOKiNg fOr tHe OnE !!! mY gUrU !!!

Time: 20-Jan-2004, 1815 hrs
Place: Sector 15A Club, NOIDA
Occasion: Weekly Meditation Session, Dhyan Foundation.
What am I doing there: Looking for that one minute that would disconnect me from the rest of the world and help me realise myself.
What actually happened?
Prashant called up Dr. Shobha Kaul, CEO, Personal Point and a very senior member of Dhyaan Foundation to let her know that he was there on the first floor of the club waiting for her. She told him that he should look around for Mr. Jain who will tell him the basic exercises. So Prashant looks around for Mr. Jain and finds him sitting along in a room which was beautifully arranged for a meditation session with white sheets on the floor on the Daris (thick mattresses) and he learnt 6 basic breathing exercises. The first one being the Ujjai Breathing, closing your eyes, concentrating on the lower throat and breathing easy…and 5 more excersises…about 20 minutes later, Dr. Kaul comes in…She had that Tej(Aura is the right word in English I guess, not sure though) on her face that comes only from the dedicated meditation and concentration. So this is where the meditation session begins...Sitting in an aasana, and chanting mantras… Starting with the prayer for the Teacher, the Guru: Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara…. And moving on to various other mantras including the chanting of the most powerful word in the universe, OM. The next 60 minutes were full of mantras, chants, peace, and a li’il bit of pain ( that was for Prashant coz he was sitting with his back straight on the floor after ages) and then pin drop silence for no idea how long...when Ashish helped us all move from the meditation state to the normal state...

This is when Prashant saw the Yogiji first time, and he was surprised to a see a very down to earth, simple looking man in front of him as the person who was leading this group of people. Prashant was asked why he was there, to which he replied that he was looking for that one minute of his day when he could stop thinking about the rest of the world and get some peace... to which the reply was “Do not come here with a target in mind”. So True...We have talked about expectations in my previous post and here he was again...expecting to get something out of that session...which ideally should not have been the case...anyway...so Sir (or Yogiji) starts asking everyone in that room about how they were feeling during the session...and then one gentleman asked a question which triggered the session for the day. His question was “why is concentration so tough?” And here is whatever I remember of the reply... they talked about what are we about...different answers...summed into one which was “we are a sum total of two things... the body and the soul... antaratma and the panchtatva...we humans are governed and ruled by our desires and that is why when we try to meditate the forces which have those desires make us think that the time we are spending in meditating is useless coz there is so much to do...and our mind cannot concentrate...to break free for this circle of desires and wants, we need someone to guide us and we have to surrender to him...and that person is the GURU...someone who decides what we do...how we do it...and why we do it...and we follow it with extreme devotion and dedication...the one who makes follow and practise discipline...the one who gives us his hand and we hold it to move with fear in this world...to break free we need to give up.. we need to surrender to the ONE.”

This is where that session ended...and here is what I felt and thought after this session ended...

True... a Guru is needed to whom you can surrender...but then how do you find that guru...What was surprising in the session yesterday was...that whenever they talked about Guru, I could recall only one person...My Father...and every word spoken about having a Guru was making him miss more...not because I wanted him to there listening to that conversation, but I wanted myself to be in front of my father, with my eyes closed and listening to him. I realised that something that I was looking for outside was there at my very home and I was not even close to realising it before yesterday. I realised that if I can follow anyone in this world without questioning why, it would be my father and not one else... so here I was back home with my faith reinstated in my Pa and my sincere thanks to Yogiji who made me realise this !!!

Can Prashant be associated with Dhyaan Foundation even if he has a different Guru...not really sure... but whatever said and done...

this 20th Day of January 2005 was special for him as he realised that what he was looking for in the outside world were very much present with him all the time...

God Bless!!!

SiMbLy CoMpLiCaTeD !!!

Assuming there are two ppl in a relationship... what happens next.. to start with everything that my partner does looks so beautiful so mine... and then a few days or weeks or months later the same things become a pain... can't understand what i am saying.. here is an example...in the beginning.. when my girlfriend wants to know where i am, what i was doing while i was away... i would say.. wow she is so concerned about me.. she cares and takes interest in what i am doing... cut to three months later date.. and the same questions would start annoying me.. and i might start saying that she is invading my privacy, i do not have any independence in my life... things like this are very common.. but what i am trying to understand is how come two ppl who used to like the same things about each other a few months back now do not want it from each other anymore...
why do i think this happens... i am not sure.. why.. but here is what i think.. to start with our expectation levels are low.. and we are more focussed towards understanding the other person and taking such things as incidents then habits.. and then with time, when things move from a selfless commitment to a relation where its more like a barter system.. where i give for what i get.. things start troubling us.. and we start comparing... and use statements like.. why am i suppposed to compromise all the time.. why do i have to answer all the questions all the time.. and so on.... where is the answer.. is it in another relationship... or some modern age guru would need to take avatar and tell us what needs to be done.. or is it that we all understand what needs to be done.. and we just do not do it !!!!

still thinking....
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
thinking still.....
.
.
.
.
.
can't stop thinking...

ok.. switch over to another thought here....

two ppl in a relationship... both of them claiming that they are giving their 100% to the relationship....and still both of them have a feeling of discomfort and discontent about everything... why... is it because my 100% rarely matches with my partner's 100%.... so when i say that i need sometime with her everyday talking to her... then i would get content with say an hour perday.. but because of her schedules or whatever... she can manage to gimme 30 minutes.. which is the best that she could do.. and was obviously her 100% and 50% of my expectation... hua na issue... so basically i have to understand that she cannot do anything better then this.. and may be she needs to understand...that she needs to try a li'il harder then those 30 minutes.. maybe she can actually gimme an hour... who knows...
.
.
.
real time situations...
.
.
simple solutions
.
.
.
but even after knowing then do we really take care of them... i guess not.. why... i think because we are selfish.. and think about us before the other person.. but then why shouldn't i... i cannot be the one who gives away all the time...
.
.
.
i dunno if i am making it look complicated.. or relationships are really that complicated... i guess they are not... just that we need to understand...

LoNg dRiVe !!! ePiSoDe I

First things first... I HATE PPL WHO DRIVE THEIR VEHICLES IN HIGH BEAM !!! Simbly hate them !!!! They are so much pain in the eyes and on the throat coz everytime i come across some bugger like this i tend to scream and shout and feel like throwing about 1 million stones at his headlights...

Today i am at ease with myself.. i am a li'il more content... why... you will get to know !!!! read on....

Ok.. back to what happened today... got up at 0430 hrs.. and mom insisted that i should sleep for another 30 minutes coz i had to drive the entire day...actually i was not planning to take a bath in the morning...i had slept at 2330 hrs yesterday after a warm bath only !!! but this was my first opportunity to take my radha for a long drive !!! so i finally got too restless and got out of the beautiful warm bed around 0445 hrs... got ready in another 30 odd minutes i guess... now do not ask me what i did in those 30 minutes...:) ok... and then out of my house... cleaning the red beauty and making in shine like a queen... we finally managed to leave at 0611 hours... me, ma, pa, mamaji and my cousin honey !!! listening to the beautiful voice of lata ji..."thumak chalat ram chandra, baajat painjaniya"... good first hour... i drove 36 kms in the first 40 minutes and then another 30 in the next 20... so when i looked at ma tripometer at 0712 hrs it was reading 66 kms... no bad :) and this was the time to give my car a test.. and see how it figures at a three digit mark... i was really not keen on letting papa see the speedometer.. and that is why mamaji was asked to take the co-drivers seat... so.. another 10 minutes and radha was moving at 100 kmph in all its glory... what a feeling... very stable... noiseless... feeling of security... and control... and Hari Om Sharan singing " Shri Hanuman Chalisa"... I guess the car was getting insprired from song and flying on the road... but after about 15 overtakes.. and early morning slow moving traffic i managed to drive only another 65 kms in the next one hour... had to stop at toll plaza as well and then a traffic jam (which ate about 20 odd minutes) when we were moving back in to Uttar Pradesh from Haryana...

Ok this is interesting too...We moved from UP (NOIDA) to Delhi to Haryana (Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Palwal, Hodal etc.) to UP again ( Kosi, Mathura, Agra, Govardhan)....

Ok.. back to the border...after some good speeding up and a few more overtakes on the beautiful road... we readed Taj Mahal's Parking at 0915 hrs a total of 204 kms in about 3 hours.. not bad...
Had some good tea there ... with my dad giving the Chai Wala some very good tips on how to make tea.. and the chai wala made some really good tea there.. lotsa milk... less of sugar...more of chai patti.. good good adrak !!! and there it was... a good refreshing cuppa tea in a good sunny winter morning... we chose not to take a vehicle to the Taj Mahal but walk.. and finally reached there in about 10 odd minutes... One thing work talking about here.. the As#&%E attendent in the parking there said.. Sir main aapki Indica dho doon... ekdum chamka dunga.. I can't tell you how pissed how was.. that Son of a Gun called my Palio an Indica !!! though i wanted the car to be cleaned but i was forced to change my mind thanks to this comment from that Man of God !!!

Ok... so inside the Taj Mahal's premises.. enjoyed some good 2 hours in the sun there !!! and my dad really helped himself out with the camera and we managed to take about 22 fotos there... also ma and pa got two snaps clicked by one of the professional fotografers there... good fotos they are.. he clicked them and managed to give us the prints and the negatives in about 60 minutes...
Can't tell you how Jealous and envious i get when i see all those foreigners with the kinda cameras they carry... Cannon, Fuji, Sony, Minolta, SLRs, Digicams, Digital SLRs... you name it you can see it there... anyway... i know i will have something of that sort sometime very soon... so we finally move out of there after enjoying a good foto session and a good walk in the sun... and then we have food at a very very local dhaba there.. where we had lotsa food... excellent dal fry.. good fresh rotis...masta achaar... tasty mix veg... awefully expensive Malai Kofta :).... we had a good tummy full of food there around noon... 1200 hrs and then moved out.. now the question... where to go... do we go to vrindawan... or to mathura or to dayalbagh or govardhan...

pa wanted to go to radha kund.. as the last time we went for parikrama we were walking in the night and we could not check out the excellent architecture and relegious values of Mansi Ganga, Radha Kund, Suman Sarovar ( Dau Ji ka Mandir)... we spent the rest of the photo roll there and i for the first time saw monkeys enjoying the sun on the roof of my car... dunno it was the colour of the car that attracted them or what.. but still there were at one time 4 monkeys enjoying themself on the roof of my car when we were walking around the sumar sarovar... from there went to Radha Kund... heard the story behind it... then we had lotsa of Ganne ka ras.. fresh and cool.. with lemon and ginger and mint... Mazaa aa Gaya !!!!

Now we finally head back towards home.. cancelling the idea of going to brindavan... bye bye rabri, bye bye khurchan, bye bye tikki, bye bye lassi, am i missing these eatables or what.. anyway.. we plan to be back to vrindavan sometime soon again... by the way.. do you know why vrindavan is called by this name... this place once used to be a forest of Tulsi ( not the saas bahu wali tulsi but the real sacred plant of Hindus) and Tusli is also called Vrinda... hence Vrinda-Van :)

and after driving in the traffic... overtaking at least 50 vehicles.. my speedometer making me feel good at 115 kmph at times...i reached home at 1925 hrs... what a good trip it was... tired but not really tired... car thori gandi ho gayi hai... now waiting for tmrw morning when the car wala guy comes in and cleans it in the morning... he would have a some good work to do...

This is where my episode I of the long drive happens... lets see when i get to go on the episode II....

another long drive...
another post...
another satisfying day !!!

When...

eXpEcTaTiOnS !!!

Isn't life all about expectations and not getting what you really need and getting what you not need at times.... i am today writing in a real pessimistic mood... so what i am writing today is something that might or might not be entirely true... but maybe it is the truth... but are we as human beings completely responsible for what happens.. or the intentionally or unintensionally the situations make us do what we are doing... and when we are a part of that situation... we just think about our side of the entire story and not really try to look at what the other person might be feeling or going through...

dunno what i am writing...but i guess i had to take it out of my system.. which i did... does it make sense... i guess not... or maybe it does...

sAd tONiGhT !!!

I am sad right now...
why... can't really answer that... or maybe i can.... or maybe i am not sure...
the only thing that i think i am sure about is right now i want to be alone... which i am in any case... but i really want to go into that shell which keeps you away from the world...
do i know the reason...
may be...
may be not...

lets see how the next two days go.. no office but good and interesting things lined up... taking mom dad to agra... i guess they would go there second time after marriage... twice in over 25 years... just hoping that this trip is a good small family trip...

the thought made me smile...
and i am not back.. to my sad state :)

Maine aaj kuch aisa kaha ke mujhe laga ki maine achcha kaha... pata nahin... lekin mujhe achcha laga... here it is...

‘°ºOM™: let it flow
‘°ºOM™: like a stream of water in the hills
‘°ºOM™: it always finds its way
‘°ºOM™: and still you do not know where it reaches..
‘°ºOM™: but look at it from any where.. it is still beautiful
‘°ºOM™: and worth being with...
‘°ºOM™: and still flowing

And i feel that our emotions are really to be treated this way... if we continue keeping them inside then we will burst someday.. and if we let them flow then i am sure the result is going to be as beautiful and pure as a stream of water started from a hill...

though like a stream..these thoughts and emotions get influenced by ppl who are looking at them.. trying to change them... getting what they want our of them... using them... adding to them... and they end up not in the way they were initially...

but then life is like that...

Is it really necessary to write something in a post... i am not really feeling like writing anything about anything today.... just how the day went...
busy in the first half... talked to a couple of friends in the second... aise hi nikal gaya din... there are times when nothing special might happen in a day of yours and at the end of it.. you think why... could you have done anything other then what you did you make that day special... or can you live the coming day any differently to make it better...

dunno if you can really plan your coming days... i just hope that the coming days bring smile and happiness in everyone's lives !!!!

Last post written last year... first post on the 2nd day of this year... a lot has happened in the last year to me... i think i have really grown both professionally and personally this year 2004... not too sure where to start from though....

2-Jan 2003 is when i gave my last interview with Hughes and joined it on the 6th of Jan... last year on the 6th i realised that the one year i had spent as a tech. support specialist and then a team leader gave me so many opportunities to learn and grow... which i was able to cash on.... also 2003 gave me a relationship that i will regret for the rest of my life... anyway.. that had started around august (i guess in 2003) and came a tragic end which involved a lot of anger, frustration, tears, lossing out on professional respect, and 100 other things.... i finally took on a new job in april 2004 and moved on... from the relationship as well as Hughes...Out of the call centre industry.. what a relief for ppl who still associate call centres with only and only night outs, short skirts, booze, fags, and sex.... but i know that this industry made me look at the most professional of careers... where you do not judge ppl by how they look but completely by how they perform... its my data that speaks from me...and if it speaks well.. then sky is the limit... anyway.. out of the call centre industry and into the IT industry and as Team Lead tech support with a firm called Mantas.... if i write what they used to do.. its great to read it... Mantas develops and maintains softwares which track fraudulant behaviour in the telco and the finance industry.. and it had great clients too... but i did not fit in.... too technical for me.. seems that i had lost the inclination towards tech. during the last 3 years of my work.... anyway... IBM happened in 2004 august and i left mantas... The work that i am doing now.. finally makes me feel that i am on the right track and there is a long way to go....

Ok... lets do this... lemme list all that i can remember of what happened in 2004 for me.. with me.. to me.. by me... not necessarily
in this order !!!
- Completed 1 year in Hughes Software Systems BPO on 6th Jan.
- Complete 25 years of my life in this world on 10th April.
