dO gUyS aNd GaLs DiFfEr !!!

Have been thinking over this for a few days now...

Are gurls any different when it comes to choosing a boyfriend and/or a husband as compared to guys when they are on the lookout for a gurlfriend/wife...
I will start with what guys usually look out for... (This is not about me or anyone in specific, but what I have seen and noticed)
Gurlfriend :
~ Should look good, no no.. should look reeealy good...
~ Should be able to go out when we have time...
~ Should be...........
damn !!!! I cannot figure out what guys want from a girlfriend.... oh yes....
~ Should not start talking about commitment and all...
~ Should be open to physical relations...

And when it comes to getting married, we completly change our stands.. and want a different person as a wife...
~ She not being very beautiful is ok, she basically should understand me and my family...
~ Spending time together is essential, but not at the cost of individual space and independence...
~ Should be commited towards me and my family...
~ Should not have any history of affairs...

Strange how we want two completely different persons in our lives at different stages... I guess most of the affairs turn to relationships and then to marriages as the two ppl involved grow together from the first stage to second and so on...

Why such relationships do not work out.. no idea... i guess because the expectations start changing, life becomes different... not too sure though... someone would need to gimme some gyan on this...

Coming back to the main thought... is there is a difference of stands when gurls are looking at boy friends and husbands... Some might agree and some might not.. Some might get angry hearing this, and some might just ignore it...
Boyfriend:
~ Should be smart...
~ Should have a vehicle to roam around in the town...
~ Should have money to spend as well...
~ Should be commited...

Husbands:
~ Should be fairly good looking... Does not really matter if he is very smart or not...
~ Should be career and family oriented...
~ and so on..... not able to find a lot of words here....

i feel i have not been able to write all what we want and need in the points mentioned above.. but the idea is to figure out myself and with the help of a few ppl who read this blog.. how our expectations.. our aims, our needs change at different stages of our lives... at one point of time we are looking forward to just a good time and companionship... though that continues throughout our lives.. but after a while, some other thoughts and expectations take over.. when we start expanding our thoughts to things which would make our life stable and worth living...

i guess its more like having different coloured balls in a big bucket, every colour is a quality that we need in our partner... at one stage of life, we want some colours and and at a later time, we want to shake the bucket and have the other colours too...

I am also waiting for some colours to come to my life.. wonder what kinda would they be :)

  1. good post prashant, quite impressive... and impressive to the extend that it prompted me to post a comment on it. I guess gals wud love to have double criterians as far as bfs and husbands (and most of them i m sure do)are concerned but they get emotional too soon to let go of one relationship and fall for another one.
Anyway hope life brings more eastman colours in your life :))))
    take care

  2. @ Anony : Thanks for the wishes dear... About being emotional, i guess Guys get more emotional, and insecure about relationships then gals.. the only issue is that expressing that feeling is something most of us do not opt for... Thus giving an impression that we do not feel and do not care !!!

I sincerely wish that everyone of us gets all the colours we want in our lives... Amen !!!

  4. i dunno too much from the guys point of view...but dude...bur from a girls point of view...i agree with only the last point u've put in....he shud be committed....
rest abt being good looking/vehicle/money is plain crap. And I'm not being idealistic. srsly those are not parameters girls judge a guy on...atleast...i'll speak for myself...u've got it all wrong! :(

pS: don't mind me being a lil blunt, but srsly i got a lil angry!!!!!

  5. for those ppl who say looks dont matter - will u be with a groggy ravenous somalian for commitment in return?

PS: 'No' as an answer to the above question would nvr mean that u wont have issues with someone who lays around.

  7. @ Shub : I might be right, I might be wrong.. what comes from is the result of my experiences... and whatever i have seen so far is what I have written. If you say looks/money/vehicle etc do not matter, I guess you have seen only one side of the entire affair game... There is more that you gotta see !!!

Ps : About being angry... I was expecting some ppl to get angry on this post... rather because of this post :)

@ Tushar (burf) : Bhai, valid point. What i really feel is that Looks do matter to start with, and once you are together, you get to explore the real person behind those looks which might be real, might be fake... and that is when, I stay with or discontinue because of the what the person is and not what (s)he looks like...

@ Red : Thank you hai ji to start with. About yourself, achcha laga jaan kar :)

@ everyone: I have always felt that we change the way we look at the world and the partners with time, and our different stages of life expect different kind of partners to be with us. When you are in school or in college, having an affair most of the time is something that boosts your ego, thanks to the kinda guy or gal you are with. Coz that is how you are known at times...
When we grow up and are seriously thinking about our life and settling down, we are thinking about ourself only and not what the entire world is going to feel about my relationship and that is whenthe whole outlook towards a partner changes...

You might agree you might not, I feel what i wrote and i wrote what i feel. Any one who does not agree, or gets angry is teaching me something new and i really like that...

Bada wala thank you hai unke liye :)

  8. how many of us admit having double standards regarding husbands and bfs or for that matter gfs and wife. and if someone has admitted this i thinking we shud give him the credit.

  12. I'm not gonna go into the guy's side, but I can vouch for the girls.
Yes, all chicks want what you have on ur list, looks-money-vehicle, but they usually when they fall head over heels in love, its with an absolutely opposite guy. Some one with avg. looks and avg everythign else but what we look for is some thing special underneath that avg. exterior.

And that can be commitment, or ambition or self-respect or .....the likes.

oops this is getting too long!

  13. You are right.. as i said.. to start with I might have something else in my mind for and about a relationship.. but with time.. why i stick around would be completely different :) We want different things at different times of our lives, our days.. and once we get them... that is when we really realise if it was wat we were looking for...

oops its getting personal :) !!!!

phir likhunga..bai bai miss nupur.. and thanks for the worldmap idea
