Sympathy for me...

How does it feel to open the shower one chilly winter morning, hoping that you will have some warm, if not hot water... and what pours on you is the cold water...

sounds like a funny situation !!! When that happens to me, which it does at times... i usually scream out loud!!! :D

what happens when something of this sort happens to emotions...

Something similar happened to me sometime back... Its not been a very interesting trip this time in UK... work pressure, being alone, not speaking a single word for the entire day, etc etc keeps me busy...

and to add to it one of my monday mornings, not today, started with bad rains and winds... and while I was trying to handle the umbrella and myself, there were cars on the road, which shamelessly kept splashing water on me everytime they passed by... for someone looking at me, that would have been a funny situation.. but there was li'il that I could do... if i stand under the only two shades around, the cars would ensure i was wet... and otherwise, the rains and the winds would... pretty neat consipiracy that was :D

last week... I was told that when I told about this incident to a friend, I was looking for sympathy for my condition in UK...

and I was stunned... why would a friend ask for Sympathies?
... friends don't need sympathies !!! do they?
was I looking for sympathy? NO...

strange...

That incident made me think about a few other people would have reacted to this situation of mine

Aro: He would have laughed his ass off.... and he will when i tell him this...
Deepu : Would give a quick practical advice on how i can manage the next time this happens...
Subbu : Would listen and not really react to it...
Bindiya: would just laugh and tell me that I am responsible and that I am an idiot to get out in the rain... to end it would ask if I managed a cup of tea or not when i reached office...
Tushar : Would have said," Chal koi na... wapas aaja chai piyenge".
Mom : Would have called, emailed to ensure that i was keeping myself warm and packed for atleast 5 days after that day... she did... though she does not know that I was running fever the entire week...

While I now smile thinking about how some people, I know, would extend their sympathies to this cry baby; I remind myself of being careful of how people look at you... its not a very good feeling when you are looked down upon and made to realise that you are not worth it... and I am going to not like it for a very long time....

Oh on a footnote, I am thinking of doing a roadtrip between London to Brussels via Paris sometime soon... any ideas or thoughts?

  4. Isi baat pe ek sher yaad aa gaya, aarz karta hoon...

Munh ki baat sune har koi
dil ke dard ko jaane kaun?
    Awazon ke bazaron mein
    khamoshi pehchane kaun?

Your observations about my reaction, and all others I know are spot on. True, I would listen (in all earnest) and not really react. Friends don't need explicit sympathy!

  7. Uffff...I soooooo hate being splashed with water if and when I am caught in such a situation.
Trip: Consider taking a ferry ride till Paris. It's fun.
And and and are you lucky or ARE YOU LUCKY? Aaj after like 1 year of thinking I have been able to recollect the name of that restaurant in Paris which I liked soooo much exactly 10 years ago!! It is called Flunch. http://www.flunch.fr/Flunch/Flunch_Intro.aspx

I don't remember where it is located...But nice food especially if you are (are you?) a vegetarian.
    Enjoy!

  11. trip to P and B..you should...visa layliya ??

and who is the creepy, bitchy, weird, lunatic friend of yours...who didnt show sympathy on you...who didnt cry with you. He she must be a real Sinner/looney character or must just be jealous that you wre having all the fun in the rain.

anyways dont worry yourself much about it..am sure he/she is not one of those inner circle friends...so just throw him/her out of ur mind...and delete it from recycle bin as well :))

I stop i finished my quota of swearing for the day

God, cleanse me of my sins and have mercy on me. Thou has created me; Lord, have mercy on me

    Amen

  12. # That was it...
you bet.. he is back... i met him yesterday... we talked and walked for over 3 hours in london :) sab kahani suni maine india ki.. maza aaya...

Pub Hopping did not happen, it moved to a silent nice evening with office friends (Infy)

Monday wala plan bhi nai ho paya because i reached office late on Monday, and my manager was there already... remember i was caught up with work that day.. to sab bhool gaya :)

    # Happy...
Trying to figure out the Visa and the rest of the details.. planning for trips is as much fun as doing them :)

You got it all wrong... I was never looking for sympathy or expecting anyone to cry with me... Thats exactly the issue... the person feels that when i share what happened, i am looking for sympathy and crying... just a different perspective I guess, when you expose the weaker side of yours, to people who you feel are you close friends... some understand and appreciate it, and some accuse you of being sympathy hunters and cry babies....

inner circle friends... i have never used that term before.. but its a nice one :) can use it...

And whatever that means :) Amen...

  25. OM very true, but i wud have went on and on...till u wud have changed moood,,with my words of wisdom...he he he...There is a small prayer--god please grant me the strength to change the things i can, to accpet the ones i cant change and the wisdom to know the difference...aur ek baat aur hai dost, that such experience made u enjoy more at good times.....waise bhi sympathy bevkoof dete hain coz they cant do anything better...and bevkoofon ki tension nahin leni chahiye..bahut kuch aur ha duniya main karne ko.
