ChEeR UP !!! HOW?

I have an alarm to get up at 0630 hours... but i do not remember when i really got up when the alarm rang for the the first time... i keep snoozing it for 5 minutes till it does not give me the option anymore... and then i have to get up !!!

Today... when I got ready and came out of the house... it was very hot... not because of the sun because there was none visible in the sky... there were clouds and some mist...

It was hot like you are standing inside a room which is being heated... the entire air was like that... Something felt wrong...

It was a very depressing weather... and I am going to talk about things which do not make me happy for a while now...

To start with the disadvantage India has with its politicians.... the power that has been given to these guys... so while we all are angry with Arjun Singh... and not happy with the decisions the Government is making... how many of us have actually promised ourself that we are going to vote the next time there are elections.. and also would ensure that we ask as many ppl as we can to vote...

I know of so many ppl who have enjoyed vacation when there were election days and also crib about the government at the first instance...

so while I think the country is being run by a handful of idiots along with some intelligent powerless politicians... Its we who also have a major role to play in this entire drama!!!

Now!!!

When I am depressed because of anything there are a few things I want to do... the first of-course is drive and listen to music... which I did... Radha is the PERFECT companion when things do not seem right!!! And music in the car obviously does not need any mention here...

So what do I listen to today...? Mehfuz... Euphoria's new Album... wonderfully made... a lot of effort is there in the tracks... and the band seems to have matured with time a lot... but there is something that disappointed me… There was not one song that could cheer me up the way "Dhoom" or "Maeri" or "Gully" or "Kaise Bhoolegi Mera Naam" did... which means that I am not going to go back to this album when I need to be happy!!!

that brings to a happier thought... what all do I do when I want to cheer up...

~ I drive...

~ I listen to music... some of the songs in particular are "Kabhi Aana Tu Meri Galli", " Kaise Bhoolegi Mera Naam", " Meri Pyaari Bindu- Original","Jaaneman Jaaneman Tere Ye Do Nayan, chori chori Lekegaye Dekho Mera Mann", " Ek Ladki bheegi bhaagi si", "Ek Chatur Naar", "Getting Jiggy With it", "Summer of 69", "Sweet Child o Mine", and lots more...

~ I eat... and my favourite places are street side stalls or dhabas... I am just not a restaurant fellow... Streets it is for me :)

~ I talk... there are a few friends I always can think of when I am not feeling too good...

~ I sit alone... and look at the sky... not that it cheers me up all the time... but then it relaxes me a lot...

What do you do to cheer yourself up?

  2. hey, i really liked this post.
don't know about the weather because i was sleeeeeping but i have experienced that. sometimes just the weather affects the mood big time.

the govt? well, next time wil lbe my first time to vote. and i will make sure i vote. most probably it will be section 49-O that i'd use. ppl like Ashok Ahuja creep me out. i can never vote for someone like him. i'd rather let the govt shell out more money and conduct re elections with new candidates.

nice ways of cheering yourself up.

    me?
i have a major craving for chocolates when i'm not in a good mood. so that's the first thing i take care of. who cares about the bloody calories if it helps you cheer up. right?

aur, i buy flowers for myself.

i never know which song would cheer me up on which day so i just play a lot of happy songs and see which one is the magic no.

and yeah, i also have a few ppl i look for to talk to when i need to cheer up.

  3. I know probably you'll get another fit of laughter after this, but, let me still say it...because that's the only thing that came to my mind once I was half-way through your post. Euphoria SUCKS. Such a pseudo band.

Music & Car. Well, I don't have access to that sort of "pleasure". God knows how long I will take. But, nevertheless, music is the best form to be with yourself. In a car, jeezzz I am hoping in another three years, I will be able to afford one. I'd like to play U2 and Beatles combined with Collective Soul, Pink Floyd, Jet, Damn Yankees, Incubus & Pearl Jam. The list is endless.

Voting. It'll be my first time in the next elections. Almost all the students I know are going to vote for the first time. And I know for sure many want to rip off the politician's asses this time. Sale samajhte kya hain apne aap ko? I am sure the student community is thinking of the same.

Oh yeah, Euphoria is a very pseudo band. ever tried Indian Ocean or Menwhopause? Both are Delhi based bands and they do some good stuff.

And, sorry to have disturbed yesterday--like I said I was lost in Okhla. :|

  4. I have to apologise for i am not a regular. But have to say that the moment i decide to visit blogs...yours is the first in line. The list is not that long!!

about the post...nice. Unfortunate thing is...people say about vote and all...they never do. Its just that i hope that these kids realise that it is up to them to make some radical changes...If the government of india thinks that they can do whatever they feel like it i call to all those who believe that this is a whole lot of bull shit and reservation needs to be f*****, to take a stand, if they are not listenig, make a resolve that you will vote them out next time, that you shall petition to the Supreme Court that your RIGHT TO EQUALITY, the fundamental right of every INDIAN CITIZEN, is being violated. Find out ways...there must be something we can do...We the people of India!

Sorry Prashant...got carried away. Hope you don't mind.

Now things I do when i need to cheer myself up...
Watch cartoons with my little nephew...either the cartoon or his stupid antics can liven up the darkest of moods. In case i am away from him, I look at his snap, feel sad, let a tear fall and I am all cheery.

Other feel good things in my life...
    Chocolate
    Books....
    Bharti...
    Gaurav...

& GOD. For a bad day i simply look up at the sky and say...Is that the worse you can do? Smirk and the sun shines like a beautiful moon...try it!!

  6. ok i read somewhere....
"middle class are getting what they deserve"
cant agree more to it......the way we dont vote, dont take active part in our society, just break rules (however small they r) we deserve it......we r not disciplined lot......even our protests are not dont in right way.......c i m totally against reservation and all for protest that r going on....but i believe that hunger strike shud have been the last option......whenever nothing wud have worked......now the step has been taken, wat r these people gonna do....wats the next step ? more hunger strikes ? more rallies......
telling u frm experience....done all that at time of du.......

what do i do to make myself feel good...????

read, walk.........call someone....not to share wats happening but to divert my mind.........music and comp are ofcourse always there....

  7. Ok...I am so far away from being the first here that I am almost ashamed.
    :D

My solutions for a bad day:
Silence, complete withdrawal from the world, and or, calls to the shoulders I need to cry on.

  9. weather....ahhh,its a cruel cruel summer...thts the only song tht can fit in for dis damn dirty weather.
politician, well they too r acting lyk summer ....very harsh. but u said it rite abt r voting rites n its high tym tht they should realize tht even we can b the same n we hv to prove tht during elections:).god only knows wen will these pple act lyk human beings.
muzik, definately the best way to relax.i guess most of us opt for this means to unwind urselves. one happy song tht i most often listen to is 'm alive'by celine dion n amongst others the list is endless. as for euphoria, the one song tht i im simply in love wid by the band is 'ab na jaa'.i read,i blog and i play wid my little cousins to realx....n tht is sooooo much fun.
other ways of relaxing in dis hottt summer...tk a bath wid chilled water n chillax....hehe.i dont know if looking at sky is way of relaxing or not, but even i love to look at the night sky n thts just lovely.last but not the least be with urself wen u actually want to be n yes it works!
