Breaking News...

" The Crime rate has actually increased after the BPOs came into picture... My parents are usually scared and keep calling me to see if I am ok."

IDIOT...

Who the hell is she to comment on the Crime Rate and BPOs... If people feel that BPOs add to the crime rate, they are free to get lost...

And our media is to be blamed equally... one single incident in a BPO suddenly raises question marks on the security of the lakhs of people who work in the entire industry... Are they nuts or something... Do they even know what people in BPO at all levels go through to earn a decent living... i feel its one of the toughest things to work in a BPO , and for the interested it can teach you things which NO other industry would ever teach you..

Oh.. and then there are people who say, " The Security should be revamped in all the DAMN companies... its a cause of concern."

Where does the security feeling go when you go out partying late nights and tell your parents that you have been working? And how do they blame the BPO for it?

There was another dude who said, " My parents get worried, if i reach home an hour late... And no one gets worried when he himself goes out drinking and goes home at whatever time he wants...

We either do not speak up in front of the camera or we take responsibility with the words that we are using... and the idiotic News Channel guys should be sensible enough to show what makes a difference, instead of showing the crap that they do....

Oh... and if you do not it already... Someone took a revolver inside the HCL BPO office in NOIDA and shot a collegue....

Media and some idiots who talk on the camera... Wah re prabhu... Ajab teri Duniya...

  1. Why only BPOs? It could've happened in any office. Why are people too quick too generalize?

  2. @ Priyanka...
    NUTS
    IDIOTS
    STUPIDS

    Media
    People

I think the media is the biggest culprit... they go ahead and show anything as if they are the Subject Matter Experts for anything that happens... why don't they understand that they are channels of information... and not the SMEs for everything that happens in this world...

  3. yeah, u r right about media shouting on top of its voice.. There's actually a competition going on between diff news channel abt who shouts loudest..
But then our media is very new, Maybe it'll mature in some time to come.. Maybe it wont..

And yeah i heard abt this noida incident just abt half an hour back.. silly ppl..

  4. though media always exaggerate things like this.......the point out here which the better part of media is asking is how the pistol landed up in bpo office......

    why BPO ?
because they themselves shout more than any other industry abt the security of so called american and european clients data (one of the core points always made while pitching in front of clients).....so its quite justifiable when they dont do it properly....and its always gonna be highlighted.......

so if its so easy to take a pistol inside the office then taking the imp files wud be piece of cake....thats why all the ho-hulla over it.....

otherwise valid points raised in ur post......

  5. if the incident cudn't have been doctored, the junta interviews certainly were

    chill pill

and anyways testosterone levels would be high wherever young and restless are, just that the night adds a dimension to it

  6. hmmm... thinking of it, even the media industry is not a 'safe' place to work... media industry has its own history of crime & violence..

really wonder how the media guys would be 'highlighting' the case of a journalist or editor being killed?

  7. # dolly...
    yea...

    # Deepak...
That question has nothing to do with BPO, Deepak...

About the BPO... i totally disagree with you about BPO making noise about themselves... how many times have you seen a BPO talking about data integrity and security in front of the media...

What i would recommend is go and check out one of the financial services process ops yourself and see how the people there are not allowed to use pens, mobiles, notepad to the extent that they cannot type a single character anywhere other then the CRM software...

the issues happen because of the people and not because of an industry... Oracle and SAP case being one of the biggest examples where one of the biggest firms accuses the other of data stealing...

About the pistol... how is that related to BPO security?

samajh nai aaya mereko bhai kya bolna chahta hai tu...

    #mayuri...
no industry is SAFE or not safe... you cannot associate that term with an industry... its people... and they exist everywhere...

I wonder what media would do... another story to sell.. some more time to kill... some more breaking news... nothing else...

  8. bpo not making noise abt security, that wud be news........come on check any business news paper or mags or just check pre sales ppt which is pitched to client........where it clearly comes out how much the bpo companies stress on security.......

i have worked on many of pre sales stuff in my days in wipro (spectra proj were pitched along with wipro technologies) and have seen same for daksh, progeon and CTS (no third party information)......and so many numerous interviews and reports on Etimes and CNBC. Every industry has some subsidary pivots on which primary work is based and security is one of the most imp pivots for BPO

u r right when u say it happens cuz of people....i am nt contesting that.......and i know people are not allowed to take all those things egally .....otherwise anything can be taken.......i am not saying that media has been right, they havent......wat i am saying is that there is a logical explanation behind why even good news channels and publications are asking Q's about it..........

as for pistol, it comes into picture because like i said if taking a pistols is so easy then why not clients data ......

  9. and ofcourse what u think or what i think is not right...but wat the picture goes out to client......think from their perspective (who are already on backfoot cuz of outsourcing issues), then u might get the point........
i just hope that this news is not highlighted in the same way by intl media as its done by stupid news channels here

  10. We think differently... and i respect that...

What you are referring to as noise is something that is important to get business...

And if any of these news channels understand that, they would not show this the way they do... that is what my point is....
