Sadistic Pleasure...

I drove to Delhi this last Friday... and returned yesterday night...

And needless to say driving the car is such a relief... I was running high fever when I started from NOIDA, but by the time I reached Panchkula... it was all fine... I am still not well... but I guess, I would manage just fine with this worse then ever throat...

Oh let me get back to the reason why I am writing this post... and I guess that is what made me feel better too...

during these two looong drives... about 300 kms each way, I managed to give a nice group of cars a good run for their money and worth... and the list includes

Hyundai Elantra ( I personally do not like this car a bit, but then its much more powerful then my Palio, but on the highway, this guy was struggling to keep me away from his tail)

Tata Indigo (This is supposed to a more powerful car too, but I guess at speeds over 120, she might just fall apart in pieces)

Honda City... Poor Guy... he really tried hard to race... I do not know what was the problem... but at 130 kmph... I was feeling much better then him I guess, and he gave up the chase...

GM Tavera, and the Toyota Qualis... well... i guess they could not really match the 120 kmph rock solid Palio...

N number of Tata Indicas... ok... lets not even talk about them :)

The Wagon Rs, The Santros, the Zens, the Altos and the 800s... not worth a mention here...

Thank You Fiat for helping me take one of the best decisions of my life...

In my Palio... I have driven around 135 kmph with ease...

In a very dear friend's Petra... I have driven around 140 kmph... and the baby could go upto 160 kmph without any issues....

  5. remember once i told u, having a good car is just half the job of driving well on highways or at high speed ........the other half is how capable and confident u r ..........

btw dont even compare the palio with any of the tata's car...... :D

  6. This goes to show that performance doesn’t depend on available resources as much as it depends on how well you utilize what you have.

    By the way…drive safe!!!

  8. Delhi-Ambala drive is always a pleasure...although off late its not the same as it used to be with all the construction going on!

I have driven a Zen, an Esteem, an Alto and a Honda City on this road. Loved the experience with the City :) I tend to agree with Deepak about the confidence part because I remember overtaking some Palios myself!

  9. By the way I saw Delhi Ambala because the road after that to Chandigarh is a disappointment anyways!

you bet its a pleasure no doubt...

    aajkal thodi fight to hai...

Bhai Honda City is supposed to be bigger car then a Palio... larger in power and larger under the hood... technically it is supposed to be ahead of a 1.2 Palio always... even i was kind surprised on the honda giving up on the chase... either the guy was not keen enough to keep revving up his machine for a 130kmph race...

but bring me a 1600 cc 100 bhp Palio Sports... it can beat the shit out of any car till about 1800 cc ka engine in India...

yea... the road after Ambala is dirt.... the widening work is going on there too...
