Of mixed emotions...

Its strange how one act of nature can invoke so many feelings together in me...

I am talking about a snowfall !

On my way out of home today I just happened to check the scene outside, and I was like damn... need to change the shoes... so the formals go in the bag, and the dependable woodlands are out !

I walk out, and there is a cover of white all around... I feel a certain peace and calm when I see the snow on the footpaths, the trees, bushes...

The snow is still falling and there is no wind... so it falls slowly and the snowflakes enjoy their ride down to the ground moving around at their own pace and taking their own path... Find a snowflake that you like and then follow it to the ground... Its amazing...

And then some wind... some snowflakes hit my face and I just take my tongue out to let some of the flakes fall on it... I love that feeling of the cold snowflakes landing on my tongue... :)

I walk by a small park towards the office and there is so much snow... and I feel like leaving my bag and just go make a snowman the entire day

All of this snow makes me want my friends around me too so that we can play war in the snow :)

and something that I always miss in a snowfall... to have a sweetheart and walk with her hand in hand looking at the snowfall !



All of this in some 5 minutes walk to the office :)

White and Christmas !

I had read on Tushar's facebook page a few days back that he was hoping for a White Christmas ! In Noida, having a white Christmas is not really possible, so I thought why not collect some white here in Milwaukee and make the day white for him ! so here you go bro, this post is for you and the white Christmas that you were hoping for !!!

This is how my walk to the office was a couple of weeks back !

A few days later, snow started melting and the green grass leaves were visible again !!

But a few cars were still covered with snow, like the one above and below... BTW I missed Radha when I took the picture below :)

The County team here has to work really hard to keep the snow off places where people walk...

This my friend Gaurav's Patio... we get a lovely view of the snow all around from his place !

And lets get back home to some warmth now... and this is me making the Shimla Mirch :) And did I tell you that it tasted yummy yet once again :)

And then it snowed heavy again last week... I even got a snow day off !!! It snowed about 12 inches in the night, bringing the entire city to a halt. Even the Milwaukee Airport was closed that day !

The roads were full of snow, the cars stuck, and walking difficult, with driving almost impossible !

See it was almost about a foot of snow like I said !!!

And I decided to venture out in the evening too, and saw some really beautiful views around... The snow does make a lot of things look much more beautiful than they are otherwise...

Change of State Change of Color

The water below, turning into ice

The water above, turning into snow

Does not fall straight at you, but you walk into it ! Look up and around, and its a different world altogether ! The eyes just do not want to see beyond the snow flakes, flowing around ! (except when you are driving and/or are in a snow storm !)

The greens, browns, reds also turning into white !!!

It seems to be so different !

White Falling...

Its snowing outside right now.... not too heavy but i can see the soft cotton falling on the road and the cars and all over...

I was waiting for this to happen :)

I just told a friend a dream I had sometime back... and right now its seems that I am in a dream myself... well minus the laptops, and people and the cars, and the roads and the buildings outside :)
